Conservation & Framing Protocols

  • Handling: Archival fine-art prints are highly delicate. Unpacking should be executed with the utmost care, utilizing clean cotton gloves or pristine hands to prevent the transfer of natural oils to the cotton-rag surface.

  • Glazing & Spacers: Fine-art prints must never come into direct contact with the glass or acrylic glazing. Condensation from environmental humidity changes can cause irreversible damage or warping. Always utilize an acid-free mount or a float-mount system to introduce a structural air gap.

  • UV Preservation: To shield the vivid pigment structures from ultraviolet degradation, choose museum-grade UV-protective glass or archival acrylic. Artworks should reside in stable indoor environments, strictly away from direct sunlight, severe moisture, or rapid temperature fluctuations.

  • Studio Recommendation: The artist recommends specifying non-reflective museum glass, paired with a wide, off-white archival mount leaving an 8–10 cm visual border around the print. Frames should remain understated and classic, such as a simple linear profile finished in an off-white paint.

  • Consultation: For bespoke framing solutions or to arrange delivery of a fully framed edition, you may consult the studio's trusted framing artisan, Fine Art Services (Neal): info@fineartservices.co.uk | +44 (0)1892 347881.
